Local Golf Teams Wrap Up Regular Seasons In Roundup

BATTLE GROUND — The Warsaw boys golf team finished seventh and Triton was 14th at Saturday’s Lafayette Jefferson Classic at Battle Ground Golf Club. Sixth-ranked Carmel won the 21-team tournament with a 311 on the par-72 course, followed by No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern (314), No. 4 Zionsville (315), No. 13 Lebanon (316) and Cathedral (318), rounding out the top five. Led by Will Petro’s 79, the Warsaw Tigers finished the course with a 326, as Jonny Hollar posted an 81, Brandon Eckert carded an 82, Ryan Cultice had an 84 and Michael Jensen had a fifth-player score of 89. Shooting a 349, the Triton Trojans had three scores of 86, posted by Tanner Shepherd, Lucas Shafer and Jordan Anderson, while Greg Music had a 91 and Braden Kreft shot a 94. In its last tuneup before sectional, the Manchester boys golf team finished third out of five teams at Saturday’s Wabash Invitational. Shooting a 392 on the par-71 Honeywell Golf Course, the Manchester Squires finished behind Northfield’s 338 and Blackford’s 378. A 79 by Northfield’s Austin Trump was the low score of the day, while Manchester’s best was Connor Eichenauer's 86.
