GOSHEN — Goshen College is excited to host the third annual Champions of Character Northern Lakes Conference-Northern Indiana Conference All Star game Friday 7 p.m. at Gunden Gymnasium. The game will draw 20 players from two of the premier leagues in northern Indiana with players from the NLC going up against players from the NIC. The players were nominated by each league's coaches. Headlining this year's all-star group is 2011 Indiana Mr. Basketball runner-up Nic Moore, from Warsaw. Moore will try and help the NLC team avenge last year's buzzer-beater loss to the NIC. Moore will be joined on the NLC team by Riley Stichter (Wawasee), Cameron Williams (Northwood) Michael Paul (Northwood), Trevor McKibben (Wawasee), Jaron Davis (Elkhart Memorial), Ryan Getz (Goshen), Malcolm Thurmond (Northridge), Houston Hodges (Plymouth) and Sean Smith (Plymouth). Coaching the NLC squad will be Phil Mishler of Wawasee. Representing the NIC will be Karl Columbus (Riley), Donovan Campbell (Clay), Trevon Love (Adams), T.J. Grant (Riley), Marcus Moody (Riley), Mason Braden (Elkhart Central), Robert Stalling (Washington), Javonte Young (Mishawaka) and Matt Mackowiak (St. Joseph's). Coaching the NIC squad will be Chad Johnston of SB Washington. The game will be directed by Goshen College men's coach Gary Chupp and will be broadcast live by 91.1 The Globe, which can be found at www.goleafs.com. “We are excited to continue this outstanding event,” Chupp said. “We see this as a tremendous opportunity to bring together the young men from two of the top leagues in our area for one final chance to compete, have fun, and show off their abilities.” Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, and will be available at the door.
