After having its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, "American Teen" will be released to theaters this summer.

According to Yahoo.com, the documentary, filmed in Warsaw, will be released July 25. At 1 hour, 40 minutes, it is rated PG-13. The film is scheduled for release in Warsaw Aug. 8.Filmed by Oscar-nominated Nanette Burstein, who won a director's award at Sundance for "American Teen," the documentary follows several Warsaw Community High School students during their senior year. The WCHS students, who now are all in college, featured in the film include Hannah Bailey, Colin Clemens, Jake Tusing, Megan Krizmanich and Mitch Reinholdt. The documentary was filmed during the 2005-06 school year.

The film's North American distributor is Paramount Vantage.

Clemens, during a Monday afternoon telephone interview, said the cast will go to the movie premieres in New York and then Los Angeles. After the film premieres in those two cities, it then will spread across the country to other big cities, Clemens said.

Also in a telephone interview Monday afternoon, Tusing said the cast members will help promote the film in various ways this summer, including going out to Los Angeles. However, he said nothing was set in stone at this point.

One of the possible plans to date, Tusing said, was for him to do an internship with IGN.com this summer. If the internship happens, Tusing said he will keep a blog and review video games. He will interact with other people like him when he was in high school.

"I'm really excited about that," Tusing said, if it happens.

Another possibility, Tusing said, is to take the film to ComicCon in San Diego. He reiterated that plans could change at this point.

The "American Teen" cast also will make general appearances and go to specific screenings of the film across the country this summer.

Clemens said they will stay out in Los Angeles for two months. They will help promote the Facebook site of "American Teen," and do other promotions for A&E and Paramount. A&E holds an interest in the film.

Audiences also might find the cast on the small tube, too. Clemens said they may appear on talk shows this summer to promote the film. "They're shooting for the big names, like Oprah," Clemens said.

With so much excitement building for the summer, Tusing said it's not easy to keep his mind on the books at school.
