Posted

Pictured in Indianapolis for a joint Senate/House Interim Study Committee on Agriculture Sept. 26 are (L-R) Senator Jean Leising of Brookville, Goshert Insurance Agency's Robert Walmer, and Walmer’s son Grant. Walmer, a certified federal crop insurance agent and agent manager, was called  before the committee to explain crop insurance and answer questions on how it relates to farm real estate values and taxes. He appeared along with Dr. Larry DeBoer, a Purdue University professor and expert on farm land real estate tax methodologies and the actual impact upon the Indiana farmer. Also testifying from the Indiana Farm Bureau that day were Katrina Hall, a tax and local government specialist,  as well as Don Villowock, the president of the Indiana Farm Bureau.
