Several local businesses are cleaning up and making repairs after being burglarized late Sunday and early Monday.
According to the Warsaw Police Department, at least six businesses were broken into between 9 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday.
"By the timing, the way they were broken into, and the items taken -Êmostly cash -Êwe believe the burglaries are related," said Warsaw Police Detective Lt. Steve Adang.
Police officers found the first of the break-ins around 4:18 a.m. Monday at Video Plus, 828 E. Winona Ave. A glass door was shattered, but it is unknown if property was stolen from the business. The damage to the door is estimated at $700.
Then at 4:40 a.m. Monday, a police officer found a broken window at Sun Shack, 741 E. Winona Ave. A DVD player and $150 cash were taken from the business. The estimated loss is $500.
Around 6:17 a.m. a break-in was discovered at Ranger Materials, 310 Argonne Road. A window was broken, but nothing is believed to have been taken. The damage to the window is estimated at $100.
At 6:28 a.m. Monday, officers were called to R&G Auto/Truck Repair at 4755 Cleveland St. A door and window were damaged and a bank zipper bag with $400 cash, $110 cash from a cash box and a red MAC 18-inch heavy-duty screwdriver were stolen from the business. The estimated loss is $750.
Around 6:34 a.m. Monday, police officials found a broken window at Adele's Attic, 325 Argonne Road. Twenty dollars in quarters was stolen from the cash register, making estimated damage and loss totals around $500.
At 7:06 a.m. Monday, a broken window was spotted at Secret Sensations, 2220 E. Winona Ave. A DVD player and $200 cash were stolen, and a cash register was damaged in the burglary. The estimated loss at the business is $500.
There are no suspects at this time, but the investigation continues.
The burglaries also could be related to break-ins at two Warsaw Dollar General locations in late October.
