Looking for a special Christmas gift for an educator?
The Warsaw Education Foundation will offer a special "Honor an Educator" tribute package to an educator this holiday season. The packages are available now through Dec. 8.
With a contribution to the Warsaw Education Foundation in honor of any Warsaw Community Schools' educator, the foundation will send an "Honored Educator" pennant or pin for workplace display and your personal note to the honoree. Educators can include teachers, bus drivers, secretaries, custodians, principals, cooks, school nurses or volunteers within the Warsaw Community Schools. "Honor an Educator" packages will be delivered to recipients the week before Christmas break.
Donations will be used to help fund the Red Apple Grant awards, which are monetary grants presented each year to Warsaw educators for projects that advance enrichment opportunities, provide innovative and inventive teaching and promote academic exploration in Warsaw Community Schools. The foundation also relies on gifts to help fund the NEW Opportunities Workshop, Warsaw Schools' chess tournaments, EdCom scholarships, and the Partners in Education school/business mentoring programs.
A community non-profit organization, the Warsaw Education Foundation champions academic innovation and excellence in Warsaw Community Schools.
To participate in the "Honor an Educator" program, pick up an award form from your school's office or e-mail Edfoundation@warsaw.k12.in.us with "Honor an Educator" in the subject line and the foundation will e-mail you a form you can print out and mail to the foundation postmarked by Dec. 8.
