Spooktacular Tonight In Warsaw

Spooktacular is tonight in downtown Warsaw with registration for the costume contest for ages infants to 12 year olds from 5 to 6 p.m. Trick or treat with downtown merchants will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and costume contest judging will be from 7 to 8 p.m. on the southeast part of the Kosciusko County courthouse lawn.

Winona Council District 5 Seat Available

WINONA LAKE - Forms are now available to fill former Winona Lake Town Council District 5 councilman Jeff Carroll's seat. Carroll resigned during the council's Oct. 14 meeting. Forms can be picked up at the Kosciusko County Clerk's office at the Justice Building. The forms must be returned to Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Aaron Rovenstine by Nov. 3. To apply for the seat a person must be a registered Republican and reside in district 5 in Winona Lake.

Silver Lake Lions Free Thanksgiving

SILVER LAKE - A free Thanksgiving meal will be served at the Silver Lake Lions Building Thanksgiving Day.

The meal will be served Nov. 27 at noon. The building is located at the corner of Walnut and Harrison Streets, one block north of Ind. 14 in Silver Lake.

The facility is handicapped accessible.

Meals will only be delivered to homes of the eldery and handicapped.

If you would like to receive a meal at your home, call 574-551-7114 or 574-551-7350 (after 4 p.m.). Meals will be delivered apporximately 11:30 a.m.

In addition, complete meals will be available for carry out at the clubhouse for those who can physically do so.

Those interested must call before Nov. 23.

Silver Lake Halloween Party

SILVER LAKE - The Silver Lake Lions Club Halloween party will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Silver Lake Conservation Building.

There will be cash prizes for children and adults plus $5 for oldest and youngest in costume. Refreshments will be served.

Tippecanoe Lake Level Lowering

LEESBURG - As per state orders, Nov. 1, the Tippecanoe Lake control structure gates will be opened to release water to a prescribed winter level. On April 1, 2009, the gates will be closed to move the lake level back to normal summer levels.
