El Palacio Tropical, 975 Anchorage Road, Warsaw, wants to renew its retailer permits for beer, wine and liquor sales as well as their Sunday sales permit.
But no representative was present Thursday at the Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Commission hearing so Excise Officer Patricia Fleck continued the hearing to the Aug. 5 meeting.
Normally, renewals are given without much fanfare, but El Palacio Tropical has some "pretty serious charges," Fleck said.
During a recent raid, the business was cited for 21 counts of minor loitering and three counts of selling to minors. Fleck said she wants to also subpoena the two officers who ran the raid.
For a renewal permit to be heard, the petitioner must be present when a violation is involved.
In another matter, Roger Clemens consented to a transfer of stock of Time Out Inn, U.S. 30W, Warsaw, which will now be equally shared with Thomas Clemens, Fleck said. The transfer covers the retailer's permit for beer, wine and liquor sales as well as a Sunday sales permit. The transfer was approved.
Renewals approved by the ABC include a retailer's beer, wine and liquor permit for Wawasee Golf Club, 7654 E. Eli Lilly Road, Syracuse; a beer, wine and liquor dealer's permit for Park Pharmacy, 416 S. Huntington St., Syracuse; a beer, wine and liquor retailer's permit as well as a Sunday sales retailer's permit, for Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, R.R. 2, Leesburg; a beer and wine retailer's permit and Sunday sales retailer's permit for Clara's Pizza King, 1039 E.
