Lloyd John Bowerman, 80, Warsaw, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in the care of Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester.
He was born on May 6, 1945, in Blue Island, Ill., to Lucille Martha Wilkens Bowerman and Lloyd Daniel Bowerman. John proudly served in the U.S. Army, entering in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of first lieutenant. He served with the 125th Infantry during the Vietnam War receiving the bronze star.
John married Doris Arlene Anderson on Nov. 24, 1979; she died on Dec. 30, 2021.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Tim Richards. Military rites will be conducted by active-duty members of the Army Honor Guard, and members of the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. # 1126, both of Warsaw. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
