'Little Shop Of Horrors' At Grace

Posted
WINONA LAKE - "Little Shop of Horrors," a spoof of the sci-fi horror movies from the '50s, continues this week at Grace College's Little Theater.

Performances are tonight at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 10 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Tree of Life Bookstore, 1104 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, at $8 for students and $10 for adults. Senior tickets are $8.

The cast features Grace students David Lepor, Allison Hagedon, Brice Williams, Katie Adams, Sarah Humberd, Queenetta "Peaches" Sharkey, Jason Bloomingdale, Erika Bernheisel, Ashlee Lane, Eric Blevins, J.T. Deardorff, Karl Johnson and Brady Rhodes.

"Come see the show. It's so different - a really exciting new direction," said Brice Williams. "It's my last musical, but it's a good one to go out on. It is different from what Grace typically does. It's really making a parody of old horror movies. The audience should want to embrace the fun of the show."

"It's a fun show," said Jason Bloomingdale. "There are lots of stuff is going on onstage - in the entire show in general.""It's something so different," according to Ashlee Lane. "The way David and Mike are executing it is even better. It's really ambitious - that's what's going to make it so great. We essentially started building and rehearsing only a month ago."

The cast has put in long hours to get the musical underway, and the hard work has shown in the bonding the cast has done.

"We have a really good cast. There are some bonds onstage that carried offstage as friendships," said Bloomingdale.

"It's a very different show but there is a lot of humor. The set and props are really sweet and we have a great cast," said Erika Bernheisel. "Be prepared for great music numbers and awesome set design."
