Jefferson Elementary School first-graders Tuesday afternoon visited Grace Village Retirement Community. The students sang a few Thanksgiving songs before presenting the residents with Thanksgiving cards they made. According to teacher Mandy Duncan, the visit was a way for the students to ‘enrich the lives of others.’ She said the teachers thought it would be a good time to visit other than Christmas. All four first-grade classes at Jefferson participated, along with five first-graders in the functional skills special needs class, totaling 93 students. The first-grade teachers are Duncan, Nicki Reeder, Joye Andrew and Peg Burgher. Pictured are a line of the students singing one of the tunes to the seniors in the dining room.
