First-, second- and third-grade students at Pierceton Elementary recently presented songs, poems, Readers' Theatres and short plays for their families and friends. These presentations occurred during the school day. The students worked on building their reading fluency skills through these projects. More than 90 parents, grandparents and other friends of the students attended to see the short productions. Pictured are Mrs. Lynn Studebaker's third-grade students. They presented 'The Legend of Lightening Larry'. Lightening Larry is a cowboy with a huge smile, a hankering for lemonade, and a gun that shoots bolts of light and turns bad guys good. He took on Evil-Eye McNeevil's outlaw gang and won. The world was a better place because of Lightening Larry and his bolts of light.
