ANDERSON – Muncie-based artists Linda and Tom Farris each have work showing in the “Open Space – Art About the Land” juried exhibition, which will open at the Anderson Center for the Arts, 32 W. 10th St., Anderson.
Tom and Linda Farris were residents of Ideal Beach Drive on Lake Wawasee for over three decades. They now frequent visitors to the lake area.
The show will be on display, during gallery hours, from today through Jan. 16.
Linda Farris has two works in the show – “The Last Leaves of Fall,” a mixed media necklace of polymer clay, glass beads and other materials; and “Nature’s Gifts,” a polymer clay bowl of butterfly images.
Tom Farris has a sculpture titled “Nature’s Balance” featuring a small tree with roots, trunk and branches balancing on a clear acrylic stand.
The juror for the 2015 “Open Space – Art About the Land” was Stephanie Lewis Robertson. There were 139 pieces of artwork of various media and types selected for the show, which was at Minnetrista in September and October, then traveled to the Art Association of Henry County, which was on display in October and November.
The “Open Space – Art About the Land” was presented by Minnetrista and the Red-Tail Land Conservancy, along with the Art Association of Henry County and The Anderson Center for the Arts.
