Linda Rae Johnston, 65, Claypool, died at 5:30 a.m. Oct. 28, 2015, in her home. She was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Warsaw, to Donavon and Gertrude Robinson Johnston. She was a lifetime Claypool resident. She was a proud member of the Cardinal Bell Ringers and they performed in different places. The highlight of her life was getting to perform with them in Washington, D.C. She loved animals of all kinds but especially her dogs, Buddy and Sadie; and enjoyed going to the Elkhart County Fair to watch the harness races. She loved Elvis Presley and enjoyed listening to country music. Surviving are a sister, Judy (and spouse Don) Prater, Claypool; a half sister, Beverly (and spouse Robert) Chaney, Maryland; two nieces, Pam (and spouse Doug) Crace, Warsaw, and Tammy (and spouse Carl) Kendrick, Claypool; a nephew, Kelly (and spouse Jennifer) Prater, Claypool; 11 great-nieces and -nephews; and 12 great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donavon Johnston, who died Feb. 1, 1989; and her mother, Gertrude Johnston, who died Jan. 6, 2000. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dean Ealey, Early Apostolic Bible Training, and Pastor Bob Brown, God’s Highway to Heaven, officiating.
