COLUMBIA CITY – Linda K. Carter, 71, Columbia City, died at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 27, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born July 28, 1944, in Sullivan, to Cisco and Jeanette I. White May. On Sept. 11, 1982, she married Jan Cole Carter, who preceded her in death. They always made their home in Columbia City. She graduated from Sullivan High School. In 1963 she moved to Columbia City. She was employed at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw for over 30 years as a nurse’s aide and QNA. Surviving are two daughters, Debra O’Day, Fort Wayne, and Shirley Cooper, South Whitley; three stepchildren, Ron Sheets, Larwill, Sherry Stidhams, South Dakota, and Michael Carter; several grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Fitzpatrick, Pierceton; and a brother, Danny May, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Carol May, Lois Sheets, Alice Crawford and Elizabeth Rose Wall. Services will be at noon Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
