Lincoln Participates In Supermarket SweepOn Wednesday, Lincoln Elementary School’s fifth- and sixth-grade classes walked to Owen's Supermarket to help support the Supermarket Sweep community event.
Students were to shop for non-perishable food and other goods. Through their efforts, students were able to contribute six grocery carts full of goods to area food banks and other local organizations. The total cost of the goods purchased during this field trip was over $1,100 and the donations went to Fellowship Missions, Our Father’s House, Combined Community Services, the Salvation Army and Heartline Pregnancy Center.
“Watching our Lincoln Lions give back in this way was pretty incredible,” said Neena Burgher, fifth-grade teacher. “The kids were excited to help families in need and they blessed so many in the process.”
