Lightning is believed to have sparked a fire shortly before 9 a.m. at the home of June Vanator, CR 700N, near Leesburg. The house sustained an estimated $40,000 to $50,000 in damage. A neighbor apparently saw the fire and called for help. The homeowners were inside when the fire began, but got out safely. No injuries were reported. Leesburg Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Milford Fire Department. Emergency crews were on the scene for about two hours. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
