The Warsaw Community Public Library board of trustees has approved the proposed 2000 budget, which calls for a tax levy of $857,015.
The board set a public hearing on the spending plan at 4 p.m. Aug. 30.
The 2000 tax rate is proposed at 29.3 cents per $100 of assessed value and based on an estimated net assessment for the Warsaw area of $292,536,170. The 1999 tax rate was 27.6 cents per $100 of assessed value.
The library's total budget for 2000 calls for $1,583,250 for the operating fund, $112,029 for the improvement reserve fund and $392,798 for the bond and interest reserve fund.
The operating fund includes $838,839 for salaries, wages and benefits; $52,411 for supplies; $319,685 for other services and charges; and $372,315 for capital outlays.
