The Akron Carnegie Public Library blended prehistory and patriotism at the town's 4th of July parade. The library's entry promoted its "Unearth a Story" Summer Reading Program while honoring the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Staff members in colorful dinosaur costumes highlighted archaeology and paleontology, making the display a major hit with local children. The Summer Reading Program officially concludes July 23 with the program's finale July 24 at Pike Memorial Park.
