Library Board OKs Officers For 2001

Posted

The Warsaw Community Public Library board Thursday approved its slate of officers for 2001.

The proposed officers are: Mark Morrison, president; Larry Chamberlain, vice president; Joel Curry, secretary; Ruth Jones, treasurer; and John Yingling, assistant secretary treasurer.

The elections for the board officers will take place at the January board meeting.

In other business:

• Library director Ann Zydek announced the LULA elevator needs a vent passing into the maintenance room before it can pass inspection. Zydek said the elevator itself is fine, but it cannot be used until it passes inspection. The cost is close to $1,000 to add the vent, said Zydek. A change order will be added to the January agenda.

• Zydek also said the library needs a sump pump in case of heavy rain to prevent flooding. The library suffered $15,000 worth of water damage in September.

• The board discussed changing the location of the board meetings. Zydek thought it would be a good idea in the future to invite teachers and their classes to the meetings for civic or government lessons. For this the board would need a larger meeting room than the administrative office. The board decided for the new year to meet in Meeting Room A/B.

The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 8.

The library board members include: president Mark Morrison, Larry Chamberlain, Joel Curry, John Yingling, Ruth Jones, Irvin Lindemuth and Caroline Nye.
