Library Director Ann Zydek gave a director's report and informed the board the library's task force has been meeting to look into long-range plans for library service.
"The meetings have been a learning process where we have looked at the broader picture in circulation and collection development," Zydek said.
She said the board will receive a report on future plans for the library at a meeting in December.
She reported the library held a book sale Aug. 12 and $1,000 was raised from the sale.
The board also approved a treasurer's report with a $987,298.17 balance remaining and three transfers from the 2006 budget. The transfers included $205 from building and maintenance supplies to other operating supplies, $2,500 from electricity to waste disposal services, and $3,000 from building and structure maintenance to equipment maintenance.
