After receiving the results of an evaluation, the WCPL board of trustees adopted a plan Monday to make the facility more entertaining for its visitors.
Patrons and library employees submitted answers to the questionnaire.
Director Ann Zydek reported that while learning and access to information were both adequately provided at Warsaw's library, entertainment needed to become more present for the facility to better satisfy the public.
The library is currently looking into acquiring more comfortable chairs to be dispersed throughout the building, and members brought up the idea of installing a coffee shop and cafe somewhere inside the building.
"We've thought about the coffee shop before, but it's more of an issue with space," Assistant Director Joni Brookins said. "I think it would go over well though, people would really enjoy it."
Zydek said additional efforts for entertainment would be looked into during upcoming months.
"After seeing the results, I'm hoping we can change some areas and inform the public of these changes," Zydek said. "I want people to know what we have to offer."
Zydek said promotions for WCPL programs and events now will be advertised on the Chamber of Commerce map for the Kosciusko area. Informational screens also will be displayed at the North Pointe Cinemas before the start of appropriate movies.
Before the meeting adjourned, trustees approved the election of officers for the 2006 year.
Tony Etienne will remain president; John Yingling, vice president; Ruth Jones, library treasurer; and Wendy Kovach will be the secretary treasurer.
Present members for the meeting were Etienne, Yingling, Jones, Kovach, Joel Curry and Paulette Sauders. Mark Morrison was absent.
