Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees adopted the library's 2008 budget during its meeting Monday.
The library budget approved included the library operating fund at $2,360,334; the library improvement reserve fund at $205,660; bond interest and redemption fund at $391,252; and library capital project fund at $342,491.
The board also welcomed new board member Sandy Carmichael. Carmichael replaces former school board representative Wendy Kovach, who resigned in August. Carmichael represents Warsaw Community Schools.
The board also approved Carmichael to serve as its assistant secretary and treasurer.
Also during the meeting, Library Director Ann Zydek presented the board with a technology report for 2008-10 for the library. The report will be sent to the state and summarizes the library's goals for the two years.
The library hopes to implement a new integrated library system, create an electronic message board at the library to improve communication with library users and update its desktop operating systems used on staff and public computers.
The board also approved a staff development day date change from Friday to Nov. 2.
The library also approved two policy changes, including a sick leave policy where a physician's statement indicating the employee's ability to return to work may be required at any time by the administration office.
The other policy is a personal leave policy requiring employees to provide two days advanced notice to their supervisor when they wish to take a personal leave.
