In response to Mr. Smith's misinformed letter to the editor, I want to thank him for another chance to talk to the community! I am always grateful when I have the opportunity to stand up for freedom and another opportunity to express the mission of Kosciusko Silent NO More.
The liberal agenda and tactics of the left were heard loud and clear in Mr. Smith's letter. His letter came directly from the progressive playbook. Here is their tactic: If you don't understand the love of America, our founders, our constitution, and our freedoms, demonize and belittle them until they "go away". The mission of Kosciusko Silent NO More has never changed. We are a grassroots group of individuals who love America.
Our mission? To bring about less government, more responsibility, and - with God's help - a better world by providing leadership, education and organized volunteer action in accordance with moral and Constitutional principles.
It was an honor to walk with fellow Hoosiers on Memorial Day to celebrate and remember the price that was paid for our freedom. As we walked with our children, I did not hear chanting ... I heard children, moms, and dads singing "God Bless America". I heard the passion and gratefulness to the men and women who died so that we could be free. I heard a desperate fear that we are moving quickly away from those freedoms into the bondage of socialism and big government. I also saw tears, and thumbs up coming from those we walked past. They, too, felt that desperation. They understood as our forefathers died to keep us free, that we too must stand and fight for this freedom. Not with guns ... but with a love and passion for our country and unwavering courage to get off the couch and get involved.
I, for one, think it's exciting that we are making liberals feel a little uncomfortable with their understanding of who patriots are. I'm thrilled to have been a part of an event that brings out the true colors of the left-wingers in our country. I'm so glad he showed such a prime example of their idea of free speech. As in, it's OK for me to hate you, but it's not OK for you to speak out in love for our veterans and what they fought for. Thank you for the press, Mr. Smith.
