Missing Dog

Editor, Times-Union:
A friend of mine had a yellow labrador retriever that went missing over the weekend. There was blood found at their residence. I couldn't believe it when I read the article about the dog found in the dumpster. I believe it could possibly be the same dog.

To the person who did this, how dare you! You took this innocent, kind, and friendly animal away from this family and just threw it away like a piece of garbage. This family has young children and this was their family pet. I am just outraged that someone might have killed this animal on purpose and actually put the animal in their car and drove miles to get rid of the "evidence." You obviously have no conscience. Think of these children's faces looking at their mom and dad and asking what happened to their pet. The pet they raised from a puppy and played with outside. The pet they loved and was part of their family. My heart goes out to this family and their children and to their beloved dog.

Bipartisan

Editor, Times-Union:
Now that the election has passed, it is time for everyone to come together in a bipartisan manner and move the state of Indiana forward. Session is rapidly approaching and I would like to remind everyone to please contact me with any comments, suggestions or problems you have with state government so my office and I can work to remedy these issues.

I would also like to hear your thoughts or comments on bills going through the legislature. I use the information I receive from my constituents when voting on the House floor. By listening to citizens who support or oppose a bill, I'm able to address any concerns or issues and make the best decision. I know not all people agree on all issues, but I will continue to consider all the facts, wishes and concerns of my constituents when I cast my votes.

The upcoming 2007 legislative session will begin Jan. 8 and conclude April 29. I encourage you to watch the legislative process online at www.in.gov/legislative Click on "Watch the General Assembly session" on the right side of the screen and you will have the option of watching House committees or session. Watching via the Internet is a great way to stay informed and follow legislation that interests you.

I am always willing to help when I can so please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by e-mail at h22@IN.gov, by calling toll-free 800-382-9841 or send letters to: State Rep. Ruppel, 200 W. Washington St., Room 401-6, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

I would also like to take this time to wish all of District 22 Happy Holidays and safe travels.
