Editor, Times-Union: What does Leesburg have in mind for a city sewer system, when they are saying all must hook on and pay a $2,500 (at least) hook-up fee, plus $76-plus a month fee?
Not very many Leesburg residents could even afford that much a month.
Every bill you get has gone up $20 to $30 a month. Health insurance, prescriptions, doctor, hospital - everything is out of sight. Gas is outrageous, almost $3 per gallon, then NIPSCO said our winter bill will be at least 50 percent higher. When and where will all this end?
Then they want Leesburg residents to cough up another $76 a month for a sewer system. You can only stretch your money so far! They better be looking at a program for about $30 per month.
If Leesburg isn't careful, then there will be a lot of empty homes. Someone better think about this very carefully.
