Editor, Times-Union: I would like to thank the area companies who helped the Kosciusko YMCA by sponsoring and/or playing in our Annual Golf Outing. With their assistance we were able to raise over $4,000 to send to the firefighters' families in New York. The money was originally targeted for the YMCA, but the staff and board of directors decided that we wanted to assist in any way we could with the families of the heroic firemen who lost their lives trying to save others.
I would also like to thank Raccoon Run Golf Course for hosting the outing. The winning team was from Medtronic, but I believe everyone was a winner as we were able to help out in a small way those families who lost so much.
Thank you again to all who gave of their time and resources.

Great Library
Editor, Times-Union: I want our people of Warsaw to know the great quality of service that our local public library gives to its visitors.
Best of all are the continued BIG smiles you get every time you ask any of these library people to do some research for you. Believe me, I have been giving them some difficult problems, and in 10 minutes or less, I get my answers and always with a very BIG SMILE. Our local stores could learn a lot in dealing with our public from our library people. Our Owens/Kroger store ranks at bottom when it comes to delivering a smile with their services. I hope Larry Mac won't get angry with me, but will get his people to wear smiles. It is mostly the women.

Freedom
Editor, Times-Union: Sept. 11 is a day we will never forget. Fear struck our nation. The theme of President Bush's speech was fear versus freedom. Because of this horrifying act, people have fear in their hearts.
Jesus Christ, the almighty God, offers "peace" not fear. "Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me." Come to Jesus and believe in him. He offers you salvation and deliverance from fear. With the recent disaster events, there is a little fear in all of us. Do not dwell on it, instead turn to God's word. The last eight chapters of the Gospel of John is a good place to start. These are the last words of Jesus and I believe the last words of a dying man are the most important, especially the last words of the holy God-man that died for you and me.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Do not let this fear rob you of your peace, joy or love for God or one another. Come to the Bible-believing church of your choice. Learn more about Jesus, the one and only true God, and have fellowship with other Christians.
"These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Last of all, after you receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord, go out into the world and witness. Take the message of the peace with you. It is not yours to keep, definitely something this good needs to be shared.
In conclusion, come to Jesus, he will receive you. Come to church to know more about him and for good fellowship. Go into the world, especially your neighbor with the gospel.
"Know Jesus, know peace. No Jesus, no peace."
Jon Siesennop WarsawEditor, Times-Union:
We would like to thank the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department and all the other departments that responded to the Silver Lake building fire over the weekend.
They did a wonderful job and we all should be very proud of them for putting their lives on the line when they are needed. We own a small restaurant next door to the building that was on fire, and as we sat there across the street and watched the smoke and flames arise from the building, we wondered if our building would also catch on fire, but thanks to the fire departments our restaurant was saved.
We were very lucky this past weekend, all we came away with was some damage, but we still have our business that we have built up for 16 years and the fire departments have no idea how much we appreciate what you did for us.
There are no words that can express this, but thank you from the bottom of our family's heart for saving our business. God bless all of you.

No More Reeves
Editor, Times-Union: This is in response to the Sept. 17 column of Richard Reeves in our Warsaw Times-Union.
There surely was enough lag time that his "folksy" outdated words were unnecessary.
Was the speech Sept. 20 by President George W. Bush before Congress, the Cabinet, the Supreme Court, Tony Blair, the entire world, powerful enough to placate Reeves?
Of course there were wonderings about how our president was proceeding at first.
Most of us had the good sense to allow him and all of those so involved the latitude to re-group after our receiving those devastating blows in NYC and the Pentagon in our capital.
I would like to see some sort of apology regarding this particular column by Mr. Reeves.
Or perhaps his words are not needed at all in the future?

Pray For Our Nation
Editor, Times-Union: Dear God, thank you for letting us all live in the great country of America. Please help the firefighters and volunteers and give them and the families of the missing people hope that more people in the rubble will be found alive. Please let the people in the planes, the World Trade Center and the Pentagon rest in peace. Please give President Bush strength and courage and let him know that the whole nation is with him in his decisions and let his decisions be incisive and just.
Dear Lord, let America send out this one message to the world ... that even through the hardest of times, united we stand! Amen.

Silver Horse Shoe
Editor, Times-Union: Who gave Mr. Claude Stahl the authority to have the Silver Horse Shoe hanging over his mantle for 33 years? Who?
A few years ago someone wrote to Mr. Gerard inquiring about what ever happened to the Silver Horse Shoe. No one came forward. I am the person that wrote that letter.
Why didn't Mr. Stahl come forward at that time and tell us where the horse shoe was? Who does he think he is, God?
Why give the horseshoe to the basketball hall of fame?
It was of, by and for Kosciusko County per Loren Longenbaugh.

Ok To Pray?
Editor, Times-Union: Just one question for the "honorable" justices of the Supreme Court ...
NOW that the president has called us to pray.
NOW that the Congress has called us to pray.
NOW that our governors have called us to pray.
NOW that city mayors have called us to pray.
NOW that the "liberal" media and most other branches of our American society have called us to pray.
NOW that our churches are assembling in special prayer ...
