Sacrifice Of War

Editor, Times-Union:
If Iraq attacked and occupied the United States would we welcome them with open arms? No, of course not! Why then should we expect them to welcome us with open arms? We have attacked, bombed and killed them. Excuse me, but if they had done that to us they wouldn't be safe on our streets. Was Iraq responsible for the twin towers destruction? Were any of the citizens of Iraq responsible? We haven't been shown any proof. I think we have been led into a bottomless pit by the unconstitutional act of the current administration. Our Constitution gives the power to declare war to Congress, not the president.

When a nation is at war, the entire population must sacrifice, not just the service people and their families. They seem to be the only ones paying the price for the mess we have allowed the government to get us into. We whine about the price of gasoline and make no effort to conserve. We make a national issue out of a bare breast on TV. We whine about being fat. We give up nothing while others are losing their lives. This has got to stop or every war will get progressively easier to start. When a nation is at war, everyone must pay. We should have gas rationing, food rationing, curfews, cuts in government services not necessary to the war effort, etc. If this were the case, perhaps more intelligent thought would be put into going to war and the lynch mob mentality would be outweighed by common sense and reason.

Deception

Editor, Times-Union:
We have been deceived. In 1920, the ACLU was first called the American Civil Liberties Bureau. Its founders were members of the Socialist Party - communists. Crystal Eastman, a well-educated lawyer and journalist, a radical pacifist and suffragette, became the executive director of the organization The American Union Against Militarism, and co-founder and lawyer-in-charge of the American Civil Liberties Bureau (ACLU). She edited the radical journal "The Liberator" as she commuted between London, where she visited her second husband, and New York, where she was blacklisted as a socialist, and considered unemployable.

Roger Nash Baldwin, a Harvard-educated lawyer, was the co-founder of the American Civil Liberties Bureau (ACLU) and also headed up the American Union Against Militarism. He was a member of the Socialist Party, also a communist. "The ACLU was founded in 1920 by a group of people who were concerned that the Bill of Rights was nothing but a 'parchment barrier' to governmental misdeeds ... During its first 10 years it had a close relationship with the Communist Party, ... and has remained a leftist organization" (Wikipedia - Internet encyclopedia). The ACLU, along with several successful legitimate cases, has defended: the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis, NAMBLA - a pedophile group, evolution, abortion, homosexuality, indecent speech in the media, and their incessant attempts nationwide to remove all vestiges of God, Jesus Christ and The Ten Commandments from schools, government and public buildings and places, public airwaves and even churches. Their hidden agenda to remove God from America in order to promote their own leftist beliefs is subversive to democracy and to the United States of America as "one nation under God." The ACLU, and its affiliates (the ICLU in Indiana) need to be exposed and dealt with as organizations subversive to those very "inalienable rights" upon which this nation was founded. In GOD we trust!

CCQE

Editor, Times-Union:
The Concerned Citizens for Quality Education would like to thank the Atwood Lions Club for their support. The March 17th fish fry and bake sale were a resounding success, raising significant dollars to fund our cause of protecting the education of all of our children. Additionally, the response of Warsaw Community Schools patrons was overwhelming. To those who attended, your gifts are greatly appreciated. With your help, the CCQE will continue to encourage the WCS school board and superintendent to act in our children's best interests while maintaining fiscal responsibility to taxpayers.

Supports Adams

Editor, Times-Union:
Kent Adams is a candidate for Kosciusko County treasurer in the Republican May 2004 primary election. He has an interest in Kosciusko County and wants to remain active and serve our local communities.

We have all appreciated Kent Adams representing us in the Indiana Senate. He is a hard worker and cares about people. Just talk to citizens and community leaders in Warsaw and other communities in our county, along with the other area counties that he has represented. They will tell you now Kent Adams has "stepped up to the plate" and helped them over the years.

As the Republican nominee for county treasurer, knowing Kent Adams as many of us do, he is highly qualified. He will offer the citizens of Kosciusko County only the highest ethics and integrity as he is one who listens and acts in our best interest. His background in finance, working with financial institutions and the business community, along with having knowledge and "hands-on" experience at the state level will benefit the office of treasurer and all of us.

I ask you to give Kent Adams your consideration and vote for Kosciusko County treasurer in the May 4 primary election.

Criminal

Editor, Times-Union:
Sometimes it is difficult to believe what one reads in Letters from the Bush camp. Despite considerable evidence to the contrary, there apparently remains a belief that WMD existed in Iraq and that's why they were invaded, that the invasion was somehow related to terrorism and the existence of tooth fairies.

Other than an embarrassing choreographed landing on an aircraft carrier, I can recall no standing and fighting which Bush has done. He seems much better at sending others to make "sacrifices" and do the fighting.

There are few things which better recommend a presidential candidate than more concern for our resources and environment than for American oil gluttony. Bush, being as impoverished of conscience as he is of character, is as willing to squander both for profit as he is human lives. Perhaps the UN International Criminal Tribunal will make good on its intentions regarding Bush.
