Editor, Times-Union: This letter is meant to question the reasoning of the Times-Union to decide to run the Ousley and Cusick stories on the front page of Feb. 27th and March 6th. Did you think of the family of Ousley's victims or the grieving family of Kaelie Cusick?
The timing of the Ousley story (the 6th anniversary) was in poor taste. The grief is still there and we really didn't need a front page story to remind us of this tragedy. Greg wanted to tell his story but failed to do so, so why print this interview? Yes, I realize even a murderer has free speech. But why cause such pain to those affected by his act by running this as if it is a major news flash?
The Cusick family has been through so much pain. Did they really need to see color pictures of her body being exhumed?
Does our local paper have a heart? Mr. Editor, if either of these stories were your family, would you dare cause such pain by running them? Or is this just business? Our community has trusted this source of news for 145 years, as stated on page one of each issue. I hope our paper will start thinking with their hearts and not the amount of sales generated before deciding on future front page stories.

Quayle Visit
Editor, Times-Union: Today's newspaper, bottom of page 6B, is an ad promoting a lunch with Dan and Mrs. Quale (misspelled to allow Dan to feel 'at home'). The second largest print of the ad stated "Vice President Dan Quayle." Doing that afforded him current respect for his former office. Just the first of this week, Dan Quayle was on TV telling us how he was the best thing that could happen to this nation for the next election. (As a note, two days later, George Bush Jr. was doing the same thing.) At any rate, during Dan Quayle's televised comments, Dan never once referred to the President or Vice President, but only their names. For example, Dan stated "Al Gore is a cheerleader for Bill Clinton." Are the dirty, putdown remarks to start even before one officially becomes a runner for office? Does Dan Quayle think he deserves more respect for his prior office than the current holder of that same office?
Dennis G. Lundgren, Warsaw
Editor's Note: Mr. Lundgren's letter could leave readers with the impression that the Quayle name was misspelled in the Times-Union advertisement. It was not! The title "Vice President" was respectfully and appropriately added to the candidate's name by the Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee, which placed and paid for the announcement.
Delta Theta Tau Says Thanks
Editor, Times-Union: Delta Theta Tau Sorority wants to thank all the Warsaw area donors for participating in the Delta Theta Tau Emergency Dental Care Canister Drive. We appreciate your participation and the support for this benevolent project. All proceeds will go for child benefits in Kosciusko County.
Delta Theta Tau has been providing emergency dental care for low-income children in Kosciusko County for over 25 years. We rely on support from the community to be able to provide this service. Donations received during our canister drive in February will help us continue to be able to provide this assistance. The assistance goes to families whose children need emergency dental care but are unable to afford the cost. When these children are referred to us (usually by school nurses) we contact the family and make arrangements with a local dentist to examine the child and give us an estimate for the emergency work. All payments are made directly to the dentists for work performed.
Thanks again to all our donors and especially the businesses that displayed our "crayola canisters" used to collect the coins donated.
Marcia Randolph, Brenda Arnold and Kim Reneker, Delta Theta Tau Sorority members
Thanks To KABS
Editor, Times-Union: I am a 34-year-old man with Cerebral Palsy. I recently moved to Warsaw from Knox. I moved here for the opportunity to get out in the community.
Thanks to KABS bus service, I have been able to go wherever I want. I believe that KABS and the drivers are very helpful and they make me feel like a normal person. I can honestly say that my relationship with them has helped my morale, my self-worth, my self-esteem 100 percent.
The drivers always try their best to accommodate me for my weekly trips. They are courteous, friendly and thoughtful. Regarding me as a human being.
Not even South Bend transportation system lives up to the quality of service we here in Warsaw get from KABS. Thank you KABS for all of your help in the past, present and future.
I would hope that our community will support KABS so they can remain open. I also hope that our working relationship will always remain on the positive level that it is currently on. Thank you KABS and all of the KABS drivers.

Hepler Says Thanks
Editor, Times-Union: I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. As many of you know I was critically injured in an automobile accident around the first part of January. To know that so many people genuinely care means a lot to me. You have touched me deeply and there's a special place in my heart for each of you.
