Newspaper Thieves

Editor, Times-Union:
To the person or persons that is removing the Times-Union paper from my rural tube, I am working to have some things in life. Perhaps the price of a simple paper is too much money for you to afford or perhaps you're the type of person that cannot hold a job long enough to buy a simple paper. If you would steal a paper you would certainly not be trusted with anything else in life. Perhaps you should look at the want-ads in the paper. Jobs are plentiful. Try getting one! Buy your own paper! You will get caught!

Traffic Safety

Editor, Times-Union:
Monday (3-1-99) at 8:37 a.m., my son and myself watched his sisters get on the school bus. Fortunately, they were paying attention!

Their bus was stopped in front of our house (CR 800W) with the lights flashing and the stop arm out. Before crossing the road to get on the bus, they looked to make sure it was safe to cross. Well, it wasn't! A newer blue and silver extended cab Dodge pickup was coming down the road. You slowed down as if you saw there were children ready to board the bus, but then you drove right past the extended stop arm and there stood my girls. Your passenger made eye contact with my girls but maybe you were too distracted with the dog that was riding with you to pay attention to where you were driving.

Unfortunately, our bus driver, Jackie Clase, or myself were unable to get your license plate number. How frustrating to not be able to turn you in for putting my girls' lives at risk. Perhaps if Indiana required a front license plate, people like you would be stopped before something tragic happens. Hopefully, when you see a big, yellow school bus, you'll think about the precious lives aboard.

EDIT

Editor, Times-Union:
I have been reading letters placed in the Times-Union for several weeks.

Gary Gerard was condemned because he reported what information he had.

It would seem to me people writing letters lately have written second letters correcting their first letters on "EDIT TAX." Some people state they are not going to the meeting Saturday.

'No Meeting, No Facts!'
All this brought to my attention, Mr. Polston's letter. (Quote) "A word of advice to everyone, please listen carefully and speak slowly."

Before I close, thank you, Mr. Polston, for your time and energy spent for the City of Warsaw.

Hillary

Editor, Times-Union
It's time to come out in full support of Hillary Clinton for her bid to become a U.S. Senator. She has proven beyond a doubt that she has all the character flaws we so dearly approve of ... no INSIST on for our U.S. Senators.

She has proven that she can, lie, give false testimony, "lose" important court documents, cover up scandals, get others to lie, and use her position to line her pockets with money, and take on huge projects that go nowhere.

She can uphold all those traditional "values" that the voters have been approving of in the polls, and if elected she will once again have no mortgage payment, because she is very adept at having the taxpayers pick up all her living costs.

This woman has already proven to us that she can be just as sleazy as the nextÊ guy in the Senate.

Pro-Life Bill

Editor, Times-Union:
On Tuesday, March 2, the Indiana State Senate voted 35-13 to pass Senate Bill 558. The bill now goes to the House of Representatives for their consideration. This bill was authored by Senator Kent Adams of Bremen in an effort to help protect the women of our state.

Senate Bill 558 requires abortion clinics, of which there are 11 in Indiana, to meet the same health standards as outpatient surgical centers. Presently, veterinarian clinics have more regulations than abortion clinics. Senator Adams was quoted in a letter to his Senate colleagues concerning this bill that, "Women deserve nothing less than a safe, sanitary, medically adequate environment. SB 558 represents taking a first step toward assuring a high medical standard of service and care."

Senator Adams is to be commended for authoring Senate Bill 558 to help protect the women of Indiana and for bringing this issue before the 1999 Indiana General Assembly. The margin of victory on this bill of 35-13 is a result of his persuasive arguments in the state Senate coupled with the backing he received from surgeons around the state.

Advance America, formerly Citizens Concerned for the Constitution, was founded in 1980. Since that time we have become Indiana's largest pro-life, pro-family, pro-church organization. I've had the privilege of working with hundreds of legislators during the past 18 years, and I want to publicly congratulate Senator Adams for a job well done on an issue that is very important to all the citizens of our state. He is a true champion for the families of Indiana.
