PIERCETON - Lester "Bud" E. Menzie, 79, of Pierceton, died at 8:40 p.m. Sept. 19, 2010, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born July 11, 1931, in Columbia City, to John and Edith Whiteleather Menzie. On May 15, 1959, in Olympia, Wash., he married Alice Eman, who survives.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. Formerly of Larwill, he lived in Pierceton since 1976. He was a machine operator at Korbin Tool & Die, retiring in 2002. He was a member of American Legion Post 256.

Also surviving are two sons, Brian (and spouse Valerie) Menzie, Columbia City, and Jeffery (and spouse Mardelle) Menzie, Warsaw; two sisters, Marilynne Ramp, Fort Wayne, and Joyce (and spouse Keith) Clelane, Pierceton; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Larwill Cemetery.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, is in charge of arrangements.
