Leora G. Lowe Fuller

Posted
Leora G. Lowe Fuller, 95, passed away at 8:20 a.m. July 2, 2011, in her room at Miller’s Merry Manor,  Warsaw.

She was born March 16, 1916, “on the farm” near Butler, to Earl Jay and Bessie Lewis Lowe. She married William “Bill” Fuller, who died in 1989.

She was a business school graduate, pastry cook and an accountant for General Electric and Tupperware, but always felt full-time mother was her highest vocation. Wherever she lived, she was a community volunteer, often her church, with the Salvation Army, and with the community hospitals in Anderson, Monroe, La., and Warsaw. In Warsaw, she was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

She and her husband traveled in their camper throughout the United States, visiting every state and most of our national parks. During her later years, her passions were her church activities, her local grandchildren and playing cards. When asked, she always said she was most proud of her family. Wherever the family got together, she always bake them a batch of sour cream cookies.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan (and the Rev. R. Rhodes) Stipp, of Shreveport, La., and Connie (and spouse Richard H.) Johnson, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Gerry (and spouse Carol Shellenberger) Fuller, Arlington, Va., and Dennis (and spouse Kimberly Gast) Fuller, Warsaw; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

No calling is planned, and a private burial will be held in Butler.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
