Leon Robert Wilhite, 83, of Warsaw, went to be with his Lord at 6:05 a.m. April 30, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Peru, to Leon Waymond and Viola Forshee Wilhite. On June 13, 1954, he married Ruby Joan Kinzie, who survives in Warsaw. A resident of Kosciusko County for the past 50 years, he worked for Zimmer Inc., Warsaw, as a printer pressman, retiring in 1994 after 21 years. He served in the U.S. Army, joining in 1946, and honorably discharged in 1950. He was a member of Kropf Cruisers Camping Club, Goshen; was a former member and leader of First Christian Church and Calvary Chapel, Warsaw; and enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Petie. Also surviving are two sons, Jack (and spouse Theresa) Wilhite and Chad (and spouse Melanie) Wilhite, all of Warsaw; six grandchildren: Brandon (and spouse Stacey) Wilhite; Stacey (and spouse Clinton) Judd; Lance Wilhite; Clayson Wilhite; Julia (and spouse Andy) Tuinstra; and Ross (and spouse Molly) Wilhite; five great-grandchildren: Carson, Reagan, Linux, Morgan and Max; and a sister, Marjorie Lee Anderson, Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor Bill Garner officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
