NORTH MANCHESTER – Leon E. Metzger, 82, North Manchester, passed away at 10:29 a.m. Aug. 19, 2015, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born May 30, 1933, in Wabash County, to Orville and Mae E. Niccum Metzger. On Jan. 5, 1964, he married Agatha M. Coning, who survives. He was a North Manchester area farmer for several years. He was a member of North Manchester Old German Baptist Brethren Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Also surviving are: three sons, Roger E. (and spouse Christine) Metzger and Eric A. (and spouse Rachel) Metzger, all of North Manchester; and Chris L. (and spouse Roxanna) Metzger, Flora; two daughters, Susan E. (and spouse Doug) Bowman, Ferrum, Va.; and Nelda A. (and spouse Myron) Metzger, North Manchester; two brothers, Max (and spouse Irene) Metzger, Silver Lake, and Wilmer (and spouse Janet) Metzger, North Manchester; one sister, Esther (and spouse Billie) Blocher, North Manchester; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Todd and Brian Metzger, three brothers, Eldon, Delmer and Mark Metzger, two sisters, Catherine Metzger and Leona Acord, and one granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Ind. 13 North, North Manchester, with home brethren officiating. Burial is in Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, North Manchester.
