SOUTH BEND – Leola F. Emboden, 92, of South Bend, passed away Aug. 31, 2011, in Morningside Nursing and Memory Center. She was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Warsaw, to Clyde and Mary Anna Batz Wise. On March 26, 1948, in South Bend, she married Adrian Emboden, who died in 1978. She worked at the former Woolworths Store, South Bend. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Marlene (and spouse Roy) Baker, South Bend; grandchildren, Angie (and spouse Doug) Hoogeveen, Derrick (and spouse Chantelle) Baker and Monica and Matthew Baker; and great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Morgan Hoogeveen, and Taylor, Derrick Jr., Matthew and Ethen Baker. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Elden, Arthur and Lonus Wise. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Saint Paul Memorial United Methodist Church, 1001 W. Colfax, with Pastor Tom Thews officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N.
