On May 30, Sacred Heart School teacher Carol Rutledge and her second-grade class raised $480 for childhood cancer research by setting up Alex's Lemonade Stand, and selling cookies and lemonade to students and school personnel during recess time. Earlier in the year, the entire student body participated in the St. Jude's Hospital Mathathon. That effort raised $2,600, which also went for childhood cancer research.
