The Round Barn Theatre will premiere the stage musical version of the Emmy Award-winning television movie, which was one of the most successful Disney Channel original movies ever produced.

Four public performances are scheduled for May 12 and Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m., and May 13 and Sept. 30 at 6 p.m., following the main stage matinee performances of "Nunsense" and "The Will Rogers Follies."

Authors At Readers World

Two authors will be at Readers World March 10.

Airleaf Publishing & Bookselling recently announced a book signing event at Readers World, 112 N. Buffalo St., Warsaw, on March 10 from noon to 2 p.m. The authors will be Jennifer Seet and Andrew Robbins.

Seet is the author of "Borderland."

"Borderland" is the story of a young assistant bank manager, Logan Massey, who discovers hundreds of thousands of dollars missing from several elderly customers' accounts while meeting with the daughter of a customer, Travis Morton, who died recently. The missing money can be traced to an unscrupulous lawyer with an expensive cocaine habit, Jake Turner. After he is confronted with the evidence that will ruin his career and send him to prison, Jake commits suicide while in a drug-induced state. He crosses over into Borderland, which is the afterlife residence, and blames Massey for his demise and the circumstances that follow.

"Borderland" is 221 pages and price is $14.95.

Robbins' book is "It Took My Breath Away." It is 315 pages and list price is $16.95.

This non-fiction manuscript guides its reader to discover how and why a workforce of 3,000 was exposed to toxins, and just how easily an experience like theirs can happen to anyone.

Robbins was born and raised in northern Michigan. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lake Superior State University, and worked for the Department of Defense for 28 years.

Ensemble At Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER - The Fifth House Ensemble brings its innovative and educational chamber music to Manchester College for a 7:30 p.m. performance on March 11.

While in residency, the musicians also will perform in North Manchester schools and conduct a master class with college students.

"They performed for our Manchester Symphony Orchestra gala dinner two years ago, and we wanted to share their talents with the entire community," said MSO conductor Suzanne Gindin. "Chamber music, art music without a conductor, can be an intimate and profoundly moving experience for the players and the audience."

The March 11 performance is free, in the college's Wine Recital Hall, the perfect venue for the ensemble, Gindin added. The Fifth House will perform music by Poulenc, Copland, ter Veldhuis, Piston and Reinecke. Tickets are $5 at the door, free to senior citizens. Reservations are not necessary.

Members of The Fifth House Ensemble unite chamber music with other programming, such as theater, dance and even gourmet dining and winemaking. They are active orchestral musicians, performing with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, New World Symphony and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and serve on the faculties of Chicago area schools.
