LEESBURG - Progress is being made on the proposed Leesburg sewer project.
Monday night, the Leesburg Town Council learned GRW is finalizing revisions to the agreement with Warsaw for sewer service. GRW is the engineering company working with the town on the project.
Also, 207 grinder pump easements have been planned for Leesburg town residents. Easements on Ind. 15 are still being finalized.
Council members also decided to sell three pieces of equipment currently owned by the town. Two dump trucks, a 1984 Ford truck with a plow and a 1993 GMC Jimmy with a plow and a salt box, and a 4000 Ford tractor with a front loader and rear grater will be sold before the end of the year. The town has not decided if the equipment will be sold outright or in an auction. Proceeds from the sales may be used to purchase a front loader.
In other business, the council:
n Asked town Clerk-Treasurer Melissa Robinson to check into rates and conditions for continuing a certificate of deposit that soon will be maturing. If the money is reinvested, it needs to be accessible when it is time to pay for the sewer project.
n Heard the the town's accounts total $125,668.22.
