LEESBURG - All activities related to the Leesburg sewer project, including negotiations with Warsaw and obtaining the primary loan, are progressing as planned.
All in-town main-line easements have been received, but some of the grinder pump easements still have not been received. Property owners must provide these easements before the town can apply for the $500,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The town is considering joining the Area Planning Commission and will invite Dan Richard, director, to come to a future board meeting.
Other discussion included needed street repairs and the town's parking ordinance, which includes a stipulation that vehicles are not to be parked on streets between 3 and 6 a.m. The board agreed to review the ordinance.
The Leesburg Community Garage Sale will be June 16.
Representing Leesburg were: board members Ryan Robinson, Rick Stookey and Jay Weaver; Vern Landis, town attorney; Melissa Robinson, clerk/treasurer; and Ed Riordan, street commissioner.
