Posted
LEESBURG - According to GRW Engineer Joe Tierney, the Leesburg sewer project is nearly complete and it came in under budget.

Monday night, at the regular town council meting, Tierney told the board the final change order has been processed and the sewer project came in about $31,000 under budget. There are a few remaining small items that need to be finished, but, for the most part, the project is finished.Residents have started hooking up to the system, and Tierney said he has not heard many issues or problems so far.

The council also heard that town attorney Vern Landis is in the process of looking into how the town can borrow money to make road repairs. Landis is in the early stages of the process and will have more information for the council at future meetings.

Street commissioner Ed Riordan informed the board that it also is time to start thinking about what to do with leaves when they are picked up in the fall. The town is looking for somewhere to take the leaves once they have been picked up.
