Leesburg Robbery Suspect's Trial Delayed By Judge

SOUTH BEND - Alleged Leesburg bank robber Criss Duncan's trial was delayed until December after he appeared Tuesday for the first day of court with a newly shaved head.

Duncan is on trial for the May armed robbery of National City Bank, Leesburg, where shots were fired at Milford Town Marshal David Hobbs.

According to reports, Duncan shaved nearly his entire head after a suspect sketch that was drawn after his arrest was to be used as trial evidence.

The sketch bears a striking resemblance to Duncan. The haircut was reportedly instigated by Duncan's lawyer, who objected to the sketch because it was composed after Duncan was arrested.

The other alleged Leesburg bank robber, Ralph Berkey Jr., is set to attend a plea hearing in Kosciusko Circuit Court Oct. 30. He is expected to plead guilty to attempted manslaughter, as a lesser and included charge of attempted murder.
