Leesburg is getting closer to start the system that will take all sewage to Warsaw. I've had my system for 38 years, no problems. Local lake areas have no sewer system.
The way it's been broken down to me is as follows: Approximately $75 per home, $300 or so for the two churches that use their bathrooms unless you are using your neighbor's, with costs that could have been half of what it would of been, approximately four years ago.
We have no police, with small vandalism every night. The street lines, yellow or no parking zones, etc., are not done or enforced. School buses have to try and get out from the Leesburg School have a hard time because of business parking in a no-parking area.
Cost of this system that we don't need will cause a ghost town. You know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Our town board members are not informed enough about these kind of matters. When sewer water drain problems happen, when Weeds need to pick everything from the town hall, it's subcontracted out. Is this the Dells?
This new system that's coming will cost, as I've been told, $3,000 to $5,000 to hook up businesses like restaurants will pay around $1,500 to $2,200 a month. Town board members don't have a clue what the real needs of the lovely town of Leesburg needs.
