LEESBURG – Street signs in Leesburg need an update, Street Dept. Manager Brandon Queen determined after an inspection. The signs currently do not meet Indiana Department of Transportation compliance. The town has until 2020 to replace the signs, and are calling companies for quotes to be presented at the next town meeting. The board discussed the sidewalk replacement program, now named the Sidewalk Enhancement Program. The board held a working session last month to go over verbiage of the policy. Now the town must have residents sign up for the sidewalk program before they can vote on an ordinance or finalize verbiage. The board will meet again at 6:30 p.m. April 8.
