Leesburg Lions Announce Scholarship

LEESBURG - The Leesburg Lions Club released information on the 2022-23 scholarship award.

Three grants of $1,000 ($500 per semester) will be awarded.

Factors considered in awarding the scholarship include academic achievement (30%); community, church and school involvement (35%); and essay (35%).

The award will be presented to a student who attended Leesburg Elementary for at least two years and graduated                   from a high school in Kosciusko County; or whose parent/ grandparent is a member of the Leesburg Lions Club; or a homeschool student who resides in Plain Township.

A copy of the applicant’s transcript and scholarship fact sheet must be submitted, along with two letters of recommendation from a minister, employer, teacher or professor; and applicant’s choice.

This award may be presented to students pursuing a college, vocational or technical degree. The award recipients will not be eligible to apply for future awards.

The recipients will be selected by a selection panel of two individuals from the Leesburg community not affiliated with the Lions Club and one Lions Club member. The panel reserves the right to refuse any or all applicants. The panel also reserves the right to interview any or all applicants.

The recipient will be notified at the annual awards program unless the recipients currently in college or vocational school. In that case, the recipient will receive written notification.

Applications are available at the high school guidance office and through the Leesburg Lions Facebook page. All applicants and information must be complete and returned to the address below by April 1.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
