Leesburg Elementary School students did a “great job” contributing to Team Indiana’s score and helped the state steal the win from Idaho, according to Laura Wilson, program manager, Northeast and Central Indiana Regions, Apangea.
However, Teresa Jordan’s homeroom at Leesburg missed nabbing the Most Valuable class spot. The class came in second place (after climbing up the ranks).
In December, students Jordan’s sixth-grade class were named Northeast Regional Champions in the Second Annual Hoosier Math Cup contest sponsored by the Indiana Department of Education and Apangea Learning.
Apangea Learning is an award-winning provider of online supplemental math instruction.
For their hard work they will receive a new Top 10 banner and party package from Apangea.
Wilson said, “Thank you so much for all your hard work. We are all still marveling at the Leesburg kids around the Apangea office. These kids are competitors, and we still may have some individual winners in the class. We will be drawing those tomorrow. Thanks again for all you do to support these kids’ math achievement.”
