LEESBURG - Leesburg Elementary School will host an informational meeting May 17 for incoming kindergarten parents and children.
This will be an opportunity to hear about the learning opportunities the staff and teachers have planned for students. The school has arranged for Principal Marv Marino, the school nurse, speech pathologist, Title I coordinator, ESL instructor, PTO president and the kindergarten teachers to share important news about the 2007-2008 school year. The teachers have prepared a handbook of information about kindergarten for parents to take home. The handbook contains pertinent information about kindergarten procedures and some ideas of things parents can do over the summer to help ensure students' readiness for this experience. The meeting will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This is the first time Leesburg has held a meeting of this type.
This will be an opportunity for students to see his/her classroom and meet the teachers. Light snacks will be provided at the conclusion of the meeting. If anyone cannot attend, parents can pick up the handbook at the school office after the meeting.
