LEESBURG – The Leesburg Town Council heard Monday that Habitat Humanity of Kosciusko County could be an option for the town for any possible housing needs that come up.
Ben Logan, executive director of Habitat of Humanity of Kosciusko County, said there are two Habitat homes that are in the works in Claypool. The town of Claypool had homes that were no longer of use to people and decided to tear them down. The town donated that land to Habitat for Humanity.
Logan said if Leesburg ever found themselves in the same situation, Habitat could be an option and they would be happy to be part of the project. He said he is not asking for any land at this point.
Council President Christina Archer said the council appreciates what Habitat does for the area and she’s sure the owners of Habitat homes appreciates what the organization does.
