Fifth grade students in Mrs. Potts’s class at South Whitley Elementary School worked as miniature architects recently.
To enrich the learning they have been doing about early Native Americans, students constructed pueblos and hogans out of clay. They used tools to create tiny ‘adobe’ bricks from the clay. Then they worked to build pueblo and hogan replicas.
The students have also been reading about a famous architect, Maya Lin, who designed the Vietnam Memorial Wall.
