NORTH MANCHESTER – Western square dance lessons will begin in North Manchester Oct. 5. The Belles and Beaus western square dance club is putting on the lessons, and Jerry Davidson, the club caller, will be the instructor. Lessons are given only once a year, so now is the time to join in on the fun, according to a provided press release. Lessons are held weekly from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Scout Hall in Warvel Park, Seventh and Market Streets, North Manchester. The press release states, “Take the challenge and try something you’ve always wanted to do but just kept putting off. Square dancing is a fun way to get that much needed exercise along with stimulating your mind and meeting new friends.” Lessons will be open to beginners for three weeks: Oct. 5, 12 and 19. The charge is $3 per person per lesson, and the first lesson is free. Questions can be directed to Jim and Pat Hartley, 260-274-0106, who are serving as the club’s president this year.
