Leander "Bud" Rose Jr., 73, of 7413 S. Caldwell Lake Drive, Claypool, went home to be with his Lord at 8:43 p.m. Sept. 9, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Leander Sr. and Nora Campbell Rose. On June 6, 1953, he married Jacqueline Campbell, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1950, moving here from Floyd County, Ky. He was the maintenance supervisor at Dalton Foundries, Warsaw, for 17 years; worked at the Farm Bureau Co-Op, Columbia City, for 10 years; and spent 16 years working at and owning L&J Machine and Fabrication Inc., Warsaw.
He was past member of the Foundryman Association and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, Claypool.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; a daughter, Susan (and spouse Joe) Walters, Warsaw; three sons: Larry (and spouse Lynne) Rose, Winona Lake; Bruce (and spouse Kim) Rose, Pierceton; and Danny (and spouse Debra) Rose, Marion, N.C.;15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Ted (and spouse Janice) Rose, North Manchester; John (and spouse Martha) Rose, Mentone; Malcom (and spouse Miriam) Rose, Fort Wayne; Russ (and spouse Kathy) Rose, Claypool; Bill (and spouse Karen) Rose, Silver Lake; and five sisters: Delilah (and spouse Dewey) Calhoun, South Whitley; Sue (and spouse Jack), Osceola; Katherine (and spouse Curt) Shepherd, Warsaw; May (and spouse Tal) Vance, Payson, Ariz.; and Irene (and spouse Frank) Hartbarger, Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Randy and Stan Rose; one granddaughter, Lisa Schmucker; and a brother, Curtis Edward Rose.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, CR 700S and County Farm Road, Claypool, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
